There are many ways to help your community, advance your knowledge towards a career in the fire service or just give back. Volunteers are the backbone of so many wonderful and fulfilling programs and the fire service, steeped in its centuries of traditions is no different. The fire service is truly a family, especially here in Sonoma County with North Bay Fire. With stations spread out through the County, there may be a station or volunteer opportunity near you!

To start off, please contact us at volunteer@nbfire.org or call 707-823-1084 for more information. Applicants should schedule to attend several monthly training events before completing an application to make sure it’s the right fit for them. Becoming and maintaining the skills to be a professional volunteer firefighter does take time and effort.
There are some minimums:
  • Must live in Sonoma County
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Must be in good physical condition
